How we establish the optimal and pumping depths

Optimal Depth

We assume that the well and the pressure tank are at approximately the same elevation and that the operating pressure will be 50 psi. At the optimal depth, the pump is delivering its intended nominal flow rate and working efficiently.

Maximum Practical Pumping Depth

With the same assumptions as above, the maximum depth is the deepest water level from where this pump can deliver water to the tank at 50 psi and is the output flow rate is minimum recommended for this particular pump. Note that this flow rate is much lower than the nominlal flow rate.
